Reported to be a kayak incident with a man underwater at about 6:30 p.m. A man and woman in their low 20s were in an overturned kayak. The helped the woman ashore, but then could not get to shore on his own power, and was submerged in 10 feet of water.
The man was discovered by 7:24 p.m. and CPR was underway on the boat as the man was brought ashore.
The man was pronounced dead. The release of his identity is pending the notification of his family.

E38 on arrival reports a 3-story ordinary ... "we got a fire."
BC14 reports a 3-story ordinary, 25x40 with a fire on the first floor ... request an ambulance to the front lawn -- Side A.
BC14 requests the third engine to come in from the west -- E107 assigned.
BC14 reports with lines on the fire, aerial to the roof, ladder on the C-Side, fire coming out the third floor windows (back porches), and a victim on the street, primary search underway, and all companies working by 2:11 p.m.
2-2-4 assigns TL5 to back down from the north with E99 feeding by 2:15 p.m.
2-2-4 report a 3-story ordinary with 3 lines on the fire on the third floor -- making progress by 2:17 p.m.

Dear Lindop Parents,
I write with information regarding events that occurred this morning at the District. First and foremost, please know that students and staff are safe and there is no ongoing health concern. Earlier this morning, the District learned that a handful of students in one class felt ill. Because of student confidentiality, that is all I am able to share at this time. The District took swift and immediate action to ensure the safety and well-being of the student body by contacting emergency services. The Broadview Police and Fire Department arrived at the District and after investigating the matter, and conducting an air quality test, determined that the incident was not related to an environmental issue, and had no concerns with the District’s facilities.
No additional students and no staff have reported feeling ill. The District is continuing with normal operations for the remainder of the day. I will keep you informed of any developments. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
