Multiple Motorcycle Crash with 2 Vehicles
Route 31and Algonquin Road Algonquin, IL
Motorcycle crash with fatality and injuries on the Western Algonquin Bypass Route 31 north of Algonquin Road.
Three motorcycles were traveling north on Route 31 when they crossed into oncoming southbound traffic and crashed with two southbound vehicles.
Alex J. Misurelli of Crystal Lake was pronounced dead at the scene about 6:02 p.m.
The other two motorcyclists were also transported to local hospitals. One was later flown by helicopter to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
The driver of one of the cars was also transported to a local hospital.
Algonquin police and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team investigated the crash at the scene for at least 3 hours after the crash.

Crash with injuries on northbound and southbound Route 53 north of Biesterfield Road.
Report of a black GMC pickup truck that lost a tire and lost a trailer that flipped over in the northbound lanes.
Debris or a tire from the trailer hit crossed to the southbound side of Route 53 and hit a 30-year-old woman in the head. The woman was transported to an unspecified hospital.
The truck and the trailer blocked all three lanes of northbound Route 53.
Illinois State Police initially on northbound lanes.
Northbound and southbound lanes were blocked for most of Friday evening. Southbound lanes opened about 10:15 p.m.
Northbound lanes were open by 11:00 p.m.
