Report of an explosion and fire was actually some type of dispersal of pepper spray or other chemical irritant.

Crew on arrival reports light smoke showing.

Smoke alarms were activated in the building.

Residents treated at the scene; paramedics seen irrigating patients on lawn.

Some firefighter/paramedics showed signs of chemical exposure with tearing.

Inside firefighters were wearing self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

Unknown number of people transported and/or treated at the scene.

Extra ambulances called to the scene.

American Red Cross to the scene.
