Crew on arrival reports driver is out of the water. No injuries -- not officially confirmed.

Firefighter/divers are working to confirm driver's claim that he was only vehicle occupant, and possibly are preparing vehicle for tow truck recovery.

Second ambulance requested at 11:11 pm for EMS standby for divers' safety.

UPDATE: Only one suspect in custody; 2 suspects at large

One of the suspects was described as a male/black subject wearing a white shirt or black T-shirt and blue jeans. The suspect may have stripped off one of the shirts, and may be wet and covered in mud and dirt. The suspect is possibly heavyset — possibly 5’6″ tall. 

2 armed robbery suspects in custody. One armed robbery suspect at large, described as a male/black wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

Police activity also on I-55 Stevenson Expressway.

One offender attempted to strike a firefighter/paramedic and is reported being detained without police present. Police requested to expedite.

VIDEO: Van driver killed after rear-end crash with a flatbed tow truck on westbound I-90 at Mile Post 63.5 near Central Road and Freeman Road in Hoffman Estates.

Crash with injuries and entrapment.

Report that a van hit a tow truck. At least one person in the van trapped, and a report that the tow truck driver was hit as a pedestrian. The tow truck driver is reported to be walking.

One person in the van was dead at the scene.

SQD55 and BC5 requested back at the scene of the Illinois State Police investigation of the fatal crash at 3:47 am.

Westbound I-90 shutdown at the crash scene, at Route 53 and at Arlington Heights Rd.

Backed up traffic directed wrongway eastbound in the westbound lanes to exit at westbound I-90 to Roselle Rd.
