Car vs Truck/Extrication Crash
41.562800, -88.352806 (Caton Farm Rd and Grove Rd Joliet, IL)
Report of a small car under a box truck with engine fire and extrication needed, and female patient unresponsive.
Helicopter, delayed due to weather.
Heavy extrication was performed using multiple hydraulic rescue tools which took over 1 hour.
Special help from Rendel's Towing to attempt to remove vehicle from under truck was unsuccessful.
A special request was made for a heavy rotator tow truck, but the patient was extricated prior to the arrival of the rotator truck.
The female patient was loaded into A10, stabilized, and transferred to Lifestar medevac helicopter for flight to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downer's Grove.

Report of a bicyclist hit by a car. Joni Beaudry, age 55, was crossing Central Road when she was hit by a black Lexus SUV. She was transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
