Fatal Pickup Truck vs Multiple Motorcycles Crash

UPDATE: Charles Kleffner died in his pickup truck after his pickup truck hit several motorcyclists head-on and caught fire. Kleffner possibly had a medical issue before the crash.
Report of a pickup truck that hit 4 or 5 motorcycles with a truck on top of one of the motorcyclists. Motorcyclist Matthew Stautz, age 43, of Rothschild, Wisconsin, was pronounced dead at Centegra McHenry Medical Center after transport to the hospital. Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team is investigating the crash.

The crash possibly involved more than 5 motorcycles. Witnesses at the scene described that the driver of the pickup truck possibly had a medical problem that caused him to cross the centerline and hit the group of motorcyclists head-on. One person is confirmed dead at the scene.

Fire/Medic units responding received a report that one victim was suffering from an amputation and that a vehicle was on fire by 3:13 p.m.

E224 crew on arrival reports multiple people on the ground, a fully-involved pickup truck fire, and that the crew is bringing a hose line to the fire by 3:16 p.m.
Dispatch reports there is possibly still a victim inside one of the vehicles by 3:16 p.m.
BC22 request Flight for Life by 3:20 p.m. Landing Zone setup behind Liquor Hole at State Park Rd and Country Club Hills Drive.
BC22 requests an ambulance from Antioch and Lake Villa, and an engine from McHenry by 3:21 p.m.

Coroner requested by 3:25 p.m.
A222 en route to Landing Zone by 3:32 p.m. and at the Landing Zone by 3:34 p.m.
No confirmation whether Flight for Life transported a patient or not.

The offender was last seen fleeing on foot northbound on Spring Lake Drive from Hawthorn Drive.
The offending driver was in custody by 6:25 a.m.
