Rolling Meadows Fire Department
Head-on Crash/Fatal Wrong Way Crash
NB Route 53 and Kirchoff Rd Rolling Meadows, IL
Initially reported as a multiple-vehicle pileup with a wrong way driver on northbound Route 53 between Kirchoff Road and Euclid Avenue.
The crash was later reported as a two-vehicle crash.
Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that one person was trapped in each vehicle -- an American Taxi van and a yellow "sedan".
A84 requested to the scene at 4:00 a.m.
Two patients were killed at the scene -- one in each.
Apparently an American Taxi van was traveling northbound in the northbound lanes of Route 53 when it was hit by a yellow subcompact car that was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Route 53.
Apparent impaired driving crash.
