Head-on Extrication Crash/General Alarm
Solon Rd and Ringwood Rd McHenry, IL
Report of a head-on crash with entrapment.
Crash reported to be well north of Ringwood.
John and Claire Korkowski, of Spring Grove were pronounced dead at the scene about 10:30 p.m.
The accident is being investigated by the McHenry County Sheriff's Police Accident Investigation Unit.
Initial investigation shows that Korkowski's vehicle was northbound on Solon Road and was hit by another vehicle, which caused it to skid sideways off the shoulder on the northbound side of Solon Road. The Korkowski's vehicle then re-entered Solon Road and crossed over into the southbound lanes, where it was hit head-on by a second vehicle for a total of three vehicles involved in the crash.
