Report of a person shot in a police-involved shooting near the CVS at Irving Park Rd and Western Ave Chicago, IL.

Police responded to a call for a disturbance with criminal damage to property in progress.

Police reported the woman threatened them with a knife and refused to drop the knife. A Taser was deployed twice with no effect.

According to police, the woman continued to advanced toward police while making threatening statements. She was shot by at least two police officers

Chicago Fire Department paramedics transported a female, age 40, Code Red to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Outbound trains have been cleared to proceed past Cicero intermittently. Outbound trains will proceed through the coach yard at Cicero, once they clear the scene of the incident they will continue on the main tracks. Trains may be operating approximately 60 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes behind schedule due to train #1275 striking a pedestrian. Chemical spill MCA or monochloroacetic acid (MCA) -- chemical not confirmed.

Chloroacetic acid easily penetrates skin and mucous membranes and interferes with cellular energy production. Initial dermal exposure to high concentrations (e.g., 80% solution) may not appear very damaging at first, however systemic poisoning may present within hours. Exposure can be fatal if greater than 6% body surface area is exposed to chloroacetic acid.
