Fatal extrication crash. Three people reported killed. At least one person was dead at the scene.

The crash involved a 2007 Chrysler and a 2012 Toyota.

Firefighters returned to the scene about 3:00 a.m. to extricate at least one victim's body that was involved in the crash.

WB I-88 traffic was diverted off I-88 at Naperville Road during rescue operations and an extended investigation. Initially some traffic was getting by on the shoulder.

Construction crews are building the base for the American Airlines 1914 Club behind home plate. A large excavation hole exists today where the section of seats would be behind home plate.

E42 crew on arrival reports nothing showing from a 43-story commercial high-rise, fire-resistive by 8:53 p.m.

BC3 reports smoke inside and requests a Still and Box and EMS Plan 1 at the scene by 8:56 p.m.

Command reports a small fire in a newsstand extinguished by the sprinkler system.

Fire is out with a conventional lead out, and light smoke conditions in the building at the mezzanine level.

Still and Box struck out at 9:08 p.m. on orders of 2-2-1.

Stairwell 3 was fire attack stairwell; Stairwell 1 was the evacuation stairwell.

Firefighters are ventilating the mezzanine and the tunnel with three power fans.

All searches clear by 9:19 p.m. and firefighters are still displacing smoke from the interior.

One patient transported by helicopter; one patient transported by ground ambulance. Both patients described with serious injuries, according to Illinois State Police.

Report of two adults trapped in the vehicle by 11:27 a.m. E1601 assigned ground contact with medical helicopter.

Helicopter enroute by 11:33 a.m. with a 17 minute ETA.

Requesting shutdown of westbound lanes by 11:35 a.m. Illinois State Police and county deputies en route.

Crew on arrival reports one patient that needs to be extricated that is already being helped by a State Trooper by 11:38 a.m. Crew arriving also report the vehicle rolled over on the passenger side.

BC24 reports they have a steel industrial bulding 75x400 with smoke coming from the steel truss roof. The building -- about 4-stories high -- is a former steel mill structure.

225 reports the building is a 6-story, 75x300 -- possibly 75x500

requesting a hold don the Norfolk and Southern at 4:56 p.m.

225 requests a 3-11 Alarm by 4:49 pm -- requests the spare snorkel and another Tower Ladder.

Entry point is on the east side of the river -- 106th St and Buffalo is the entrance.
