4 CHILDREN HURT, PETS KILLED IN HOUSE FIRE ON DIVISION ST ELGIN

    HOUSE FIRE with INJURIES/BOX ALARM
    318 Division St Elgin, Il

    MABAS Division 2 Box Alarm on Box #2-451 for a house fire.

    An older teen and three children were rescued from a second floor apartment in a house.

    Two boys were rescued by a first floor neighbor, two girls were rescued by firefighters with a ladder raised to a window.

    All four victims were transported to Saint Joseph Medical Center. Injuries included smoke inhalation, 3rd degree burns and frostbite.

    Several pets were killed in the fire.

    Fire possibly caused by wall-mounted space heaters with heat radiating to a mattress that ignited.
