Garbage Truck vs Low Power Line
746 N Beverly Lane Arlington Heights, IL
Garbage truck hits power line Arlington Heights.
Groot garbage truck crash low power line connected to a street light.
Impact snapped and brought down the wood streetlight pole. There was also possibly a transformer atop the street light pole which fell into the garbage truck bin.
The transformer was leaking mineral oil, which was initially an unknown chemical leak dripping over the garbage truck diesel saddle tanks.
Firefighters checked for live power lines, diked the fluid leak when it was an unknown chemical, and used adsorbent material to collect the leaking fluid.
ComEd has several crews on the scene for repair.
Groot responded immediately with managers and a vehicle repair crew.
No residents lost power.

Westbound express lanes locked up. Rescue and police vehicles accessing crash scene wrong way on westbound Palatine Express lanes or with traffic on Palatine Road Frontage Lanes.

Male, age 39, transported to by onscene private ambulance to Northwestern Memorial Hospital Advanced Life Support, where he was pronounced dead at 8:25 pm.
The runner was identified as Bing Cao. An autopsy on Friday May 27, 2016 determined that he died of hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease -- death ruled natural.

Morris command reports by 9:33 am that there is one person in the water that has not resurfaced, 5 swift water rescue personnel in water, which is about 5-6 feet deep about one-quarter mile east of Route 47.
Morris command reports victim is removed from the water and transferred to paramedics for life support by 9:42 am. Companies are continuing in to search for any possible additional victims.
