E63 crew on arrival reports a multi-story, multi-family bulding with a fire on the first floor by 12:25 p.m. -- pulling a cross-lay.

RED Center reports there is a victim outside in front of the building by 12:25 p.m.

E63 crew reports by 12:28 p.m. that victim is being tended to, and the fire is knocked from the outside -- going interior.

Fire under control with victim being evaluated in an ambulance by 12:35 p.m.

Firefighters also rescue-assisted evacuation of a resident from the building.

One male, age 32, transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Christ Medical Center.

One female, age 55, pronounced dead at the scene.

Report of a car crash into a house with driver fleeing northbound Ridge Avenue on foot.

Homeowner caught up with the driver about two blocks away, but driver turned around and tackled homeowner. Driver fled north on Ridge Avenue and east on South Street.  The driver was in police custody by 5:00 a.m.

Evan Bennett, age 23, of the 600 block of West Campbell Street, was arrested about 4:55 a.m. Saturday.

Building department requested to scene.
