Hit-and-run crash with injuries.

E1842 crew on arrival reports one vehicle on scene with heavy damage.

One patient severely injured at the scene.

Second ambulance requested to the scene at 2:32 a.m. for a second patient (possibly a police officer) -- A1841 assigned.

One patient transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center, and one patient released AMA.

Offending vehicle left the scene described as a red passenger car with heavy front-end damage.

The vehicle was last seen northbound on Lewis Ave from 31st St.

Suspect and vehicle in custody.
