Report of a head-on crash involving a truck and a car with serious injuries suffered by a person in the car. Diesel spill also involved.

Crew on arrival reports the crash is about 300 yards east of Barreville Road -- one car in a ditch after a crash with a semi-trailer flatbed truck. The 18-wheeler semi-trailer truck lost its diesel tanks and is leaking diesel fuel.

Google maps layer indicates the crash is west of Barreville Rd.

One female patient extricated by 9:41 a.m.

Ambulance will meet Flight or Life at their pad at NIMC.

Cleanup service requested for at least 100 gallons of diesel spilled and an impingement of a diesel tank -- apparently a saddle tank.

Truck is seriously damaged and will require a lift for towing recovery.

Crystal Lake Fire/Rescue taking command about 9:53 a.m. as crash is in Crystal Lake jurisdiction.

Address at 6241 South Cass Ave shows a Speedway gas station.

Presuming this is a gasoline or diesel spill or leak. Firefighters are checking basements of nearby businesses.

Sewer is flowing south toward 63rd Street; firefighters checking levels south and east.

Possibly waiting for SET Environmental, Inc. to respond to the scene -- not confirmed.

APARTMENT EXPLOSION AT ON KNOLL WOOD RD NEAR CLARENDON HILLS RD WILLOWBROOK

Residents reported smelling gasoline the past few days.

An explosion occurred in an apartment building, which through debris in the yard, but did not cause a major structural collapse.

The MABAS Task Force Requested the State Fire Marshal to the scene.

Another Box Alarm is located about 1.6 mile west of the explosion for a gasoline spill/leak at the Speedway gas station on Cass Avenue just north of 63rd Street at about the same latitude.

A second explosion was reported about 12:02 p.m. at 5238 Bentley Avenue about one mile north of the apartment explosion. Firefighters on scene report no fire at the explosion in a laundry room.

MABAS Division 10 Box Alarm on Box #5-1 for a "house explosion" (appears to be a townhouse or apartment building) at 10:19 a.m.

Engine 305's crew reported a large header and flames showing during response to the scene by 2:11 a.m.

First box for tenders.

Command reports two structures involved, and trying to protect two other exposures with a defensive operation by 2:52 AM.

Power outages in the area as ComEd has shut down power near the fire scene.
